Linda Falkner has worked for over thirty years with people challenged with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. She has experience with individuals who have deafness, brain injuries and mental illness. Ms. Falkner has worked in institutions, respite in the client's homes, and has cared for disabled children and adults in her own home.
Education: Ms. Falkner holds a dual masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of South Florida. Her undergraduate degree is in Communicative Disorders (Speech Therapy) with a minor in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin. Ms. Falkner is state licensed as a LMHC - Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
Prior to opening CHEER! Ms. Falkner worked in the field of substance abuse and criminal justice. She focused on personality disorders, addiction, anxiety, anger management, and parenting. She developed a successful program to treat severe drug addicts with chronic relapses and another to rehabilitate felons being released from long-term prison sentences. She has also had experience with Domestic Violence and Sexual Offenders.
Ms. Falkner is fluent in Sign Language and familiar with the deaf culture. She has worked with deaf individuals and families.
Ms. Falkner has written and published four books:
I Would Be Loved is about drug exposed children in foster care.
Americans Lost is about homeless people.
Search for the Fountain: The Secret to Youthful Aging consists of interviews with healthy, active people aged 80 to 103.
The Magic of Writing: How to Write and Publish the Book that is Inside You is an easy, how-to book for the beginning writer.

Dr. Jeffrey Goidel PhD Dr. Goidel is a licensed psychologist as well as a certified school psychologist in New York and Florida. He has an extensive background in providing clinical services, testing, and evaluation to children, teens, and families. He is familiar with brief counseling techniques and cognitive therapy. He has worked with such issues as divorce/separation, bereavement, learning problems, ADHD, trauma, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem. school problems, and family conflict. During the day, Dr. Goidel works as a school psychologist with the Hillsborough School District and is available for appointments at CHEER! Monday through Thursday evenings.
Guarionex E. Del Orbe, (Del) BA Psych
Mr. Del Orbe began his counseling career in 1994, while still an undergraduate at the University of North Florida. His work involved
providing treatment to adolescents and adults involved in the Duval County Drug Court Program. In 1996, he began work at Father Martin’s Ashley, an exclusive inpatient substance abuse treatment center catering to
high-profile clientele. Working with this population provided a unique perspective on the wide reaching effects of substance abuse: anyone is vulnerable.
Over the years, Mr. Del Orbe has worked with diverse populations from at-risk youth to female inmates. Mr. Del Orbe’s first love remains helping individuals and families deal with the detrimental effects of substance abuse. His treatment approach is based on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy.

Stephanie Kelly, BA MHC Intern
Ms. Kelly earned a Double BA Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida. She holds a minor in Interpersonal Communication and specializations in Criminal Profiling and Behavioral Forensics. Ms. Kelly is presently working on obtaining a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University and will eventually seek licensure to practice in the state of Florida. She has worked with many different diverse populations of all ages individually and through delivering life skills, psychoeducational and counseling groups. A majority of her experience has been in the field of advocacy and crisis intervention.
Natalia Kivimaki, BS MHC Intern
Natalia Kivimaki is a graduate student pursuing her master’s degree in mental health counseling. She is completing her yearlong fieldwork internship with CHEER! Counseling. Holding a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tampa, she focused on criminology and psychology in her undergraduate studies. Ms. Kivimaki has worked in the field of social work for over five years. During this time, she has taught life-skills and coping groups to various populations, as well as met individually with a variety of clients. Her experience includes working with abused and neglected children in state care as well as working with high-risk youth in a juvenile prison.
